Terrace on the Green

We just had our daughters wedding reception here and it was everything we had hoped it would be. The venue site is beautiful and it complemented our decorating very well. The food was very good and we had lot's of compliments on it. Jennifer, the owner was very accomodating and helpful to me. She is on-site during the events and this helps to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Our reception was wonderful. I loved my wedding cake. My guests told me the food was very good and I loved the location and view of the Terrace. They helped me with a number of decisions about decor and I thought the whole event went well.

This place is the biggest rip off ever and should not be allowed to do business. In fact, what they have done is illegal. Their fees are ridiculous and they provide no flexibility.

The venue transforms into a dream setting. Our caterer actually took over the venue starting Jan '10. We cannot wait to see what she has in store for it. During the transfer of management, it was a little difficult to figure out who we were supposed to be paying and asking questions to but it all worked out and was wonderful.

This is a beautiful and modern venue, perfect for wedding receptions. The price was good for the amount of space. The contact people were very easy to work with and flexible. I booked this site before the ownership change and have now heard that you can't use your own caterer, but I am not sure about that. I would highly recommend this gorgeous location.

we had our contract wiht this venue before it changed hands. they gave us the place on a monday holiday for our reception for $600! they are incredibly flexable and we brought in an outside caterer. they had the kitchen provided etc. we loved this beautiful venue right in middle of Kansas city--very accessable. unfortunately this venue has changed hands, and i am not sure what all that entails now. i know that it is owned by a catering business, and though the food that we tasted was really good, it was VERY expensive. i know that they will no longer be bringing outside caterers in. the venue is beautiful and large enough for a decent sized crowd and dancing. it made great pictures. :) the venue itself i would definately recommend, the new caterer i could not review.

Monica was a joy to work with. She allowed us to do what we wanted to make our wedding reception special. We hung balloon nets for a balloon drop on our New Years Eve wedding, we were allowed to bring in our own catering company and beverages, which saved thousands of dollars. The space lends itself to be transformed into whatever your heart desires. I highly recommend this company and space!

The place is so beautiful. I had an evening wedding and had Christmas lights and candles all over and it was amazing! When I first booked it I was able to get the Key Thursday and have it till Monday! This was a huge selling point till 2 months before the wedding they booked it on Friday night, I thought ok we will have to set up Saturday really early, but at least we wont have to pick it up that night. When I picked up the key from Monica Thursday I told her we would be out by Sunday afternoon and she told me 2 DAYs BEFORE the wedding that I had to have everything out Saturday night and PICK UP ALL THE TABLES and CHAIRS! I had to ask a bunch of people to help tear down that night 2 days before. I was very dissapointed that they did not tell me before had. I also thought I was a high price for only 18 hours. I thought it would be very worth $3,000 to be able to set up Thursday and not have to tear down till Sunday. So make sure you ask them over and over if the days around yours get booked so you can plan for it!

Monica and Joanne with Terrace on the Green were great! Definitely got the full value out of the place and service that I received. I had both my wedding and reception at this site and it worked out beautifully. There is a full kitchen, bathrooms with room to get ready, coatroom, 2 portable bars, a patio and even tables and chairs to use. We had a few mishaps here and there, but Joanne took care of them in style. I would most definitely recommend them and I'd say to check out all dates available. We found a better deal by having our wedding/reception during the week as opposed to the weekend. Saved over $1700 just by switching the day from a saturday to a weekday. I know this isn't the most ideal time for most wedding/receptions to take place, but it worked out just fine for us and definitely worth the savings.Visit the website and take a look, but you really need to see the place in person to get the full effect so schedule an appointment, you won't be disappointed!
