Special Occasions

I started at Special Occasions trying to find my wedding dress. This was the first place I tried on dresses and the staff was wonderful! I was there for several hours and they never left my side. They just kept bringing me more dresses. Unfortunately, I was unable to find the perfect wedding dress here, but I did end up going back to them to purchase my bridesmaids dresses and rent my tuxes. Vicki, Allison, and all the other staff here are wonderful! They wer always so friendly and very flexible while working with me. I visited the store and called them many times during my dealings with them (trying on wedding dress, trying on bridesmaids dresses, and searching for tuxes). They were always right there to help me and answer questions. They were the most friendly and helpful staff of all the wedding dress and tux rental vendors that I visited. If you purchase a full priced wedding dress here they do the alterations for free also. Great people and I would recommend that anyone go to them for all their wedding attire needs!

Special occasions originally got my business because I fell in love with a dress slightly over budget. They complete free alterations on any full price dress purchase, and it includes a one point bustle. The first time I went they were amazing. They didnt actually have the dress I wanted, which I called ahead and fount out, but they ordered it since they carried the brand and similar dresses. They let me put 50% down and then allowed me to pay the other 50% once the dress came in. My dress came in two months early and I tried it on then. they stored my dress for me for another six months before the big day. I went in for alterations, which were minimal as it was a custom length dress. I had no problem telling them what I wanted and they assured me it could be done. I was slightly dissapointed in their communication, when I went to try it on after alterations and found they had put in a five point bustle rather than three- but they only charged me for the three since they hadn't called to let me know they were planning on doing more (I paid $15 per point since I wasn't getting the one point which is free). When i put the dress on the bustle wasn't quite even side to side- they seemed very annoyed with my request that we try to rectify this. In the end they did fix it. My dress also got dirty in the time they fixed the bustle, it had make up on it, but they got that out for me as well.

This place was SOOOO worth the drive!!! They have a large selection and were so helpful and friendly. What I liked best is all your alterations are included in the price of the dress. This is great for brides on a budget. You'll know exactly how much your spending.

When I looked for my dress at this store, I was very disappointed. I had been looking forward to picking out my dress, but had a hard time finding what I was looking for in their store. One of the ladies did her best to help, but overall I wasn't impressed. They didn't carry any reasonably priced wedding gowns. I left the store feeling pretty frustrated. I did, however, have great success there with my bridesmaids dresses. They even gave us a discount because none of the girls were having their alterations done in the store. I would recommend this store to someone looking for bridesmaid dresses or for someone who has a huge budget for their own dress.

This store was exceptional. The ladies who work here still know the meaning of customer service. Everything was done way beyond what you could have asked for. When the veil my daughter wanted was no longer made, they found a vendor to dye the veil to match her dress, when the dress she wanted for her rehearsal was no longer made, they talked the vendor in to making one anyway. Words cannot begin to say how much of an integral part of her wedding they were. Anyone that is considering getting married or has a formal occasion and needs a dress should seriously consider using Special Occasions as their one stop shop for all of the bridal attire.

The ladies up here are great. They helped me pick out the perfect dress and attire to go with it. The always called me when everything was ready. Shortly before my wedding, in the middle of summer, their busy time, I took my dress back up there because it didn't quite fit right. They immediately started to adjust and pin. I wasn't expecting to get my dress back for a couple days, but they called my back later that day and it was done and it fit perfectly! They took the time, even though they were crazy busy, to help me. It made me feel special.

This was by far the best vendor of the wedding as far as a pleasant experience. Each time my mom and I went into the store, Vicki and her daughter Alison knew our names and about the wedding. All of the ladies there are nice, and each time I came in to try on the dress, they were helpful. You never need to make an appointment and the first time I went in, I had the huge mirror all to myself for two hours! We ended up getting my dress, veil, jewelry, shoes, bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dress, and mom's dress ALL from this store and at great prices. My dress included alterations and cleaning, plus a 10% discount because it was off the rack. I saw some dress stores that did not keep their dresses in bags and they were very dirty, but these are nicely preserved in bags. I definitely recommend it for the bride that doesn't want to deal with the business of other, more popular stores that have tons of people and the quality is just okay. This locally owned store provides a personal touch to such a personal occasion!
