From start to finish, the staff at Loose Mansion made our wedding planning and the actual event enjoyable. They provided plenty of options and guidance, answered all of our questions, and there were willing to work with all of our wishes.
Our guests enjoyed the venue and were very interested in the mansion and its history. They continue to praise the food. It was a very enjoyable evening. The evening of the wedding, they attended to every detail, allowing me to totally enjoy the event.

Loose Mansion was recommended to us by a co-worker of my daughter.
From the first contact we made with Loose Mansion, I knew this was
a venue we wanted to seriously consider. The entire staff is responsive, attentive, respectful, professional and strives to make sure it is just the way you want it. Our guests were awed by the entire facility and raved about the quality and presentation of the food.
The staff knows what needs to be done to make the wedding day special and unique to the bride and groom. There is no need for a wedding planner-Loose Mansion is the total package! The facility is elegant and beautiful.

We had a wonderful experience at Loose Mansion. We had a destination wedding and had an event later at the Mansion to celebrate with our family and friends. It was very important to me that we had a very "cocktail type party" and nothing that was too "weddingish". The staff at the mansion went above and beyond to see my vision and accomplish what I wanted from the event. It was wonderful. The food was amazing and I was so pleased with the end result! It was completely stress free as they handled everything for us.

As Barbara (owner), her entire wonderful staff and the BEAUTIFUL facility all exceeded our wildest expectations in every way possible; I really don't know where to start.
When my fiancée (now wife) and I began our search for a reception venue, we really had one goal in mind...to find a place that was very elegant, without feeling too stuffy which could inhibit our very fun group of friends from having a great time. I have to say that our goal was accomplished. To a person, the feedback was that our reception was one of the best they had ever been to (keep in mind that the median age was probably 35 - so these were no novices!)
We found everything we were looking for in the Loose Mansion. We reserved the entire mansion which included a very quaint "bistro room" downstairs, the extremely elegant main floor, and the beautiful and spacious ballroom upstairs for dancing (all three levels had bars)! Additionally, there was outside seating on the terrace for those looking to enjoy the weather or have a celebratory cigar!
I was initially concerned that having three floors open could potentially keep the reception fragmented, however, it actually worked out better than I could have imagined. The guests (roughly 265) really enjoyed mingling and exploring the different rooms the mansion had to offer. Once the dancing started upstairs in the ballroom, most people generally stayed up there and enjoyed themselves immensely! The staff did an amazing job of directing the flow and it made for a truly enjoyable evening.
I cannot stress enough how their great staff made the whole process of planning the reception so easy for us. They take care of every last little detail and leave no stone unturned. From the food choices to the table settings, all the way down the cake topper, they ensure you have everything covered.
The food...one word, AMAZING. They have a terrific in-house chef that provides numerous delicious choices - for all budgets - that you get to try at one of their fun and elegant tasting events. Regarding the bar, they allow you to bring your own liquor...what more is there to say about that! This alone saved us thousands!
In summation, I am generally not one to write reviews. I expect to get what I pay for and I move on. However, when something so far exceeds my expectations to the point that the Loose Mansion did, I felt compelled to share my experience with the hope that this review will help you make one of the best decisions of your life. After all, it is your wedding!

Amazing!! I got married at Loose Mansion in September 2011, and I could not recommend it more highly. It is such an elegant, beautiful space, and the staff works so hard and thinks of absolutely everything. We had a large wedding reception (225 people, plated dinner) and rented out the entire mansion (all four floors!), and the set-up was perfect. We had a children’s buffet on the bottom level and seating for adults on the main level and third floor ballroom (the ballroom is SO gorgeous) – I was initially skeptical about having people eat dinner on two different floors, but I couldn’t believe how well it worked out. Everyone loved milling around the mansion and exploring the different nooks and crannies – I actually think having the multiple levels made people stick around longer and have more fun, because there was more to see and do than in your typical ballroom.
I was also extremely happy with Loose Mansion price-wise – you can save a ton of money by bringing in your own alcohol (we honestly ended up spending about ¼ what I originally budgeted for alcohol, and that’s with a full open bar for 200 adults), and I was really impressed with how many reasonably priced options they have (and how delicious they are. And the portions! Huge). Speaking of, the food was AMAZING. We did a duo plate with salmon and pork loin, and I have heard nothing but rave reviews from my guests (though I can’t comment myself – how is it that brides never get around to eating at their own wedding??).
The service all night long was outstanding, from the butlered hors d’oeurves to the wine service at the dinner tables to the actual bartending as the night wore on. Another thing that amazed me – my champagne hand was never empty all night long, even though I never made a trip to the bar. Someone was always there checking up on me and making sure everything was going smoothly (though not in an annoying or over-the-top way). Loose Mansion really knows how to treat brides!
I could go on forever about how wonderful Loose Mansion is, but I think you get the idea. I ESPECIALLY recommend this venue for: (1) large wedding parties when you rent out the whole mansion, and (2) out-of-town brides who want to leave a lot of the details and worrying to someone else who will do an awesome job. And anyone else, really. I can’t wait to go to another wedding/event here! It is such a special and unique place.

If there were 6 stars available - Loose Mansion would have received them!
First off - I am NOT a bride. I am a "mother of the bride". One that thought that this venue was absolutely a CRAZY place to hold such a big reception. When I realized that we couldn't hold the wedding reception (225 people) on one floor - I was very apprehensive about using Loose Mansion. BOY - am I so glad that I bit my tongue and let my daughter make the decision!!
I mean, really - how many wedding receptions have you been to that are held on MULTIPLE floors? Throw in butler passed hors d'oeuvres, a plated dinner, dancing reception, full bar, and a child care area - and it only made sense that a multi level venue just "didn't fit the need". Ha ha ha --- so wrong. Loose Mansion met...and exceeded...every aspect that I had for the reception.
I am absolutely amazed at the feedback that I've received from our guests at the reception. One of the most frequent comments - - how professional, yet unobtrusive, the staff was. Drinks were miraculously refilled; pre-dinner and post-dining hors d'oeuvres right there when you turned your shoulder; and best yet, staff that seemed to be happy to "participate" in the wedding celebration instead of "serving" the event. These people seemed to really enjoy working at 11:00 at night!!
And I didn't even mention the Carriage House! Oh my goodness! What a wonderful "benefit" to have the Mansion staff "deliver" all of the wedding gifts directly to our room while we were still entertaining and enjoying the evening!! Able to walk to our room, sleep in the next morning - wait until the bride/groom was ready to meet us there to transfer the gifts to them. SO, so very convenient - and, oh, did I mention, great accommodations?!? Could very well see how the wedding couple would reserve the Carriage House for themselves! (In our case - we reserved the room before our daughter/son-in-law had "decided" on a wedding night location! Lucky for us!!)
I'm not one to glamorize things - - I tend to have a black and white view on things and call 'em like I see 'em. I've tried to come up with some negative things and/or constructive criticism about Loose Mansion, just so this review would seem legit! Other than the rain that day - I just can't come up with ONE thing that could have been changed for the better.
To Barb and her staff at the Mansion - to this day, I still can not believe that you are as good as you are. Would welcome the opportunity to be a reference for ANY event that may be contemplating using your facilities. And if you want to keep us on your semi-annual tasting event - we'd continue to come just for the fantastic cuisine.

I can't say enough positive things about our experience with my daughter's wedding reception at The Loose Mansion this summer! Not only is the Mansion a beautiful venue for a wedding reception, but the best part was working with Barb and her staff! They made our wedding experience so much more enjoyable! They took care of all the small details.....down to a driver to get the bride and groom to their hotel. They have 2 rooms full of beautiful decorations for the tables and the mantels. We took advantage of their creative abilities and saved money by using their decorations and not having to buy flower arrangements. Everyone commented on how beautiful the tables and mantels looked! The other wonderful savings area was with the alcohol. They allow you to bring in your own......we have a large Irish and Italian family...... big savings!
The best part about having an event at The Loose Mansion is really the fact that they are like wedding planners. They take care of all the small details. From lists of great venders to contact, to the amazing food, to the decorations, to contacting everyone the week before the wedding. It was a HUGE load off of my shoulders to know that they were taking care of everything that had to do with the reception. We just had to show up and enjoy! And that we did! We can't thank Barb and her wonderful staff enough! They were all amazing to work with!!

I held my wedding ceremony and reception at Loose Mansion, everything was perfect! The food was amazing,as well as the staff, they are experts at what they do. The whole setting was beautiful and comfortable. I felt like I was home. Many of my guests complimented the venue and said it was the best wedding they have ever been to. It was truly wonderful. I also referred a friend to Loose Mansion, and she is getting married there in September 2012.

A unique, breathtaking, gorgeous venue, outfitted by a flexible, courteous, and professional staff, whose sole concern is customizing your event to otherwise unconsidered levels of 'Cinderella ball' type beauty all gift wrapped in a worry free turn key package of bliss! The food is top-notch, and facility top-shelf...the only mistake a person could make is NOT choosing Loose Mansion. This venue took care of our every wish and desire...smiling while doing so!...to say 'we LOVED it' is an understatement. They are simply and unequivocally the BEST!!!

We had our wedding reception at Loose Mansion in July 2011 and had a wonderful experience. The staff was extremely organized and our coordinator made everything happen with ease. The food was top-notch and the mansion was beautiful. Numerous guests told us it was “the best” wedding reception they ever attended! We know Loose Mansion and the wonderful staff made it so!

Loose Mansion provided the venue and plated dinner for my son's wedding rehearsal dinner. There were nearly 50 guests. The location was perfect. The food was terrific and the staff was flexable very easy to work with. I would recommend this venue for any small to medium size gathering.

I cannot say enough good things about Loose Mansion. From the minute I walked in the door to view the mansion, I knew I had to have my wedding there. The mansion itself is beautiful and located conveniently to many things. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. But, the best part of Loose Mansion is the staff. I planned this wedding from out of town and in the midst of a house sale, and overseas move. Barbara, Lauren, and Amy were amazing and took all of the pressure off me. Through numerous emails and phone calls, they planned everything. And when I was in town, they met with me, at my convenience, to go over all of the decorations and took the names of all of my vendors. From that point on, they contacted everyone and made sure every detail was ready. They were organized, proactive and most importantly, gracious. Upon arrival on that first day, to the day of my wedding when the last guest left, they left nothing out. The mansion was perfect on arrival, the vendors executed as planned and the wedding surpassed all of my hopes. The food, location, and customer service were outstanding. It was truly the wedding of my dreams, and the perfect day. And while every bride might be biased with her choices, the compliments from my guests were affirmation that Loose Mansion is truly an amazing place.

We used Loose Mansion for our rehearsal dinner. It was the perfect venue..classy yet comfortable. The staff were wonderful to work with and made the planning process very easy. They offered a variety of options with food and decor. Once our decisions were made they managed the evening flawlessly and left my husband and I to enjoy the festivities with our families. The food was delicious, the presentation was wonderful, the staff were courteous and attentive and the venue simply speaks for itself...it is beautiful. We received so many compliments from both sides of the family for such a wonderful evening. I would highly recommend Loose Mansion.

We fell in love with Loose Mansion the moment we stepped foot in the door. The venue was the perfect place for us to have our wedding reception. The inside has been spectacularly restored to its original beauty and the cost of the space and food (delicious) was very affordable. The staff is easy going, detail oriented and made sure we were pleased with everything from start to finish! I look forward to hosting additional parties there in the future.

Wonderful and Amazing... two words that describe our evening at Loose Mansion. From the first tour of the Historic Building, meeting Owners and Staff we knew this is where we wanted to hold our Reception. Barb and her staff know exactly what it takes to run a Full Service Venue such as this. They made our evening something we will remember and cherish for a lifetime. The food we chose was prepared by their chief with perfection. We went about our evening enjoying our time with our guests never having to think about any thing or worry about what is next or if everyone is being taken care of. IF you want a venue that offers the total package, with a price that can be tailed to fit your budget, this is the place.
You will see by reading the reviews they are the best in town.
Thanks

My husband and I wed at Loose Mansion back in February of this year. There are endless things to say about the venue, beginning with the owner I suppose is where to begin! Barb met with us back in the summer of 2010 to help us begin planning our wedding, since I am in the Air Force and was only home to meet her the last portion of my R&R, we booked the venue for 27 Feb, and I went back to Afghanistan to continue planning the wedding, but could NOT have done it without Barb or her wonderful staff. This speaks to the excellent service they provide, allowing the flexibility to plan things from across the pond set the benchmark for premier customer service. Once I returned in November, we only had a limited time to plan the wedding, and Barb and the staff made themselves readily available, all the while maintaining their busy schedule at the mansion. Day of the wedding, you always plan for something to go wrong because you are told to, well, if you leave it up to Barb and the staff, nothing will go wrong. They are detail-oriented so you don't have to be. You can relax and enjoy your day without the regrets. This, in my opinion, is invaluable. For a bride to look back on her wedding and say "everything went as planned," I'm not sure I have met another who can say the same. Quality, friendly, expert service is what those at Loose Mansion are all about.

From the beautiful building, to the professional staff, and the delicious food, my husband and I are very happy that we chose Loose Mansion for our ceremony and reception venue. Our guests still comment on the food, and my husband and I only regret that we couldn't eat more that day :) Thank you!

It has almost been an entire year since our wedding, but my husband and I (as well as both of our families!) continue to rave about our experience at Loose Mansion. From the moment we expressed interest in holding our ceremony and reception at Loose Mansion, we experienced nothing but timely, professional, and personal attention and service. Loose Mansion is clearly a well-oilded machine and I truely appreciated how organized they were during every step of the planning procress--especially due to the fact that my husband I were planning the wedding while living in Chicago! I really never once felt stressed or worried that a task would not be completed or a detail would be missed.
We have nothing but the highest compliments for the Loose Mansion and every person that is assoicated with them. The food for our reception was AMAZING, the staff was incredible, and I couldn't envision a more beautiful venue to hold a wedding than Loose Mansion. They clearly take pride in maintaining the facility itself and the Saathoffs and their staff display such kindness, caring, and professionalism that we never once questioned our choice to hold our wedding at Loose Mansion. They even provided us with a list of recommended vendors (very helpful for us out-of-towners) who provided us with services up to par with Loose Mansion itself.
Additionally, the value was unbelievable considering how expensive weddings can be. We LOVED that we could supply our own alcohol...when comparing with friends who held their receptions elsewhere it was clear that this opportunity saved us THOUSANDS of dollars. We would highly recommend Loose Mansion to anyone who is getting married or who wants to host another event without having to sweat about the small details because Loose Mansion's amazing staff will take care of that for you!

We were so pleased with our daughter's wedding reception at The Loose Mansion. The elegant house looked absolutely magical that evening, the
decorations being even more beautiful than we could have envisioned. The food and it's presentation was wonderful (thanks to a fantastic chef), and
everyone on the staff was so kind and gracious. The staff is amazing - efficient and professional, as well as warm and welcoming. Everything was
perfect, and it was such a pleasure to be able to relax and enjoy the party, confident that we were in good hands. Every detail of the event was
anticipated in our planning sessions, and we were encouraged to add in personal touches to make the event our own. We received prompt responses to all calls and emails, and helpful advice for every aspect of the celebration. The Loose Mansion is a real treasure in Kansas City - a magnificently restored historic mansion with an expert event staff.
