Bridal Extraordinaire

I bought my dress after I made an appointment with them (but before the actual appt) and asked to try on the dress I bought (since they had it in their store) as well as look for bridesmaid dresses and MOB/MOG dresses. Once they found out I wasn't going to be purchasing a wedding dress with them, the entire staff started treating us terribly! As the woman grabbed my dress she said, "we don't ever do this". After I put the dress on I asked to try it on with a belt since I bought a belt with my dress and wanted to show my mother, future mother-in-law and 4 bridesmaids. I had a belt on for maybe a minute and an employee came in and took it to give to another bride, then about a minute later another employee came in and told us they needed our room for another party (She originally said we had the room until they close an hr later). We not only waited half an hour for the room but were in there less than fifteen minutes. I was in the dress for maybe 5 minutes. After I took the dress off they didn't even show us to the bridesmaid dresses in the basement. I felt like Cinderella and Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman all at the same time. I understand we weren't buying a wedding dress, but I have 8 bridesmaids who need dresses and all of them are not yet married. This staff obviously does not know how they treat one bride can affect their future business. If I were you I would not spend my money there because apparently they only care about making a sale and not how they make their potential customers feel.

I went to Bridal Extraordinaire to find the perfect wedding dress. I had quite a few people with me to help me pick out the perfect dress. I had come from a great appointment at The Gown Gallery and was in high spirits, that is until I stepped foot into Bridal Extraordinaire. The minute I walked in there wasn’t even standing room. I did have an appointment and they escorted us all to the “private” room where I was to try on dresses. I told the sales associate what I was looking for and she immediately asked my budget. Apparently a $2,000 is pretty low for this store as she made it very apparent that she was not happy with what I was comfortable spending. I told her I was looking for something with lace and some bling. She talked to me as if I was stupid and didn’t know what I wanted, even though I knew exactly what I was looking for. She asked me if I had found any dresses anywhere else. I told her I had my eye on a dress, but was excited to see what the store had to offer. She immediately said “well why are you here then?” I was floored by her abrasiveness, but was in high spirits and didn’t want her to ruin my day. The room was supposed to be private, but was in the front of the store and had other sales associates coming in and out constantly pulling dresses for other brides. Moving on to what happened next, I must set the stage to say that I have had some health issues that have made me gain some weight. So, I was particularly self-conscious going into the appointment. I was trying on dresses in a size 14, which is not my typical size. After I was shown 3 dresses, she proceeds to tell me that “I have shown you everything within YOUR budget.” She then turns to my size 2 maid of honor and says “if someone else in your bridal party wants to try on dresses you can see other dresses, but I have shown you everything in YOUR size.” I have never felt so low in my entire life. I was on the verge of tears. No one has ever made me feel like fat poor white trash like Bridal Extraordinaire did. I was there a total of 30 minutes, which was 30 minutes too long. I could not get out of there fast enough. Congrats on your horrible customer service. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE, NOT EVEN MY WORST ENEMY!!! They are a horrible business!!! Luckily I ended my day going back to The Gown Gallery to purchase my dress. While I was there my party was talking with another bride’s party who just so happened to have just left Bridal Extraordinaire with the same type of horrible experience as well. We both ended up buying our dresses at The Gown Gallery and ended our horrible experience on a high note. Congrats Bridal Extraordinaire on two lost sales and tons of horrible word of mouth!!!

I had gone wedding dress shopping elsewhere, and thought I had found "THE dress". I had an appointment at Bridal Extraordinaire though, so I went just for fun. I had been before because my sister got her wedding dress there, but I just didn't think I would find anything that beat the other dress I had fount. I was very wrong! Every dress I tried on was so much better than anywhere else I had looked. There is just a higher quality of dresses at Bridal Extraordinaire, and I don't know why anyone would shop anywhere else! I told them my price limit, and they worked with me so well! They told me to not look at the price tags of the dress because they would only let me try on dresses I could afford. It was so nice to know that I wouldn't have to not get my dream dress just because it was too expensive. I have recommended Bridal Extraordinaire to many of my friends, and they have loved it just as much as I did! You cannot go wrong by going here! It is such a great experience, and you won't be sorry you...

After 7 other appointments, I was very discouraged when it came to finding my wedding dress.... Walking into Bridal Extraordinaire was an entirely new experience. The boutique is beautifully decorated. Not only fashionable but so warm and inviting. Each dressing room is like its own private parlor with vintage chase lounge and a small stage in the corner surrounded by mirrors. My consultant (Megan) ask several questions regarding the style of dress I wanted and brought me every single thing I asked for! In several dresses! I always thought stories of finding "the one" were fabricated, but I really did get "that feeling" when I put on my dress and I just knew. Megan was so kind and supportive throughout the entire process. I was later shocked to hear she was their newest consultant! She did an amazing job like a long time pro :) Ordering my dress, having it steamed and picking it up were no problem. Even after my gown arrived with a hole in the seam, the manager/owner offered to pay to have it fixed if it wasn't a part that needed altered anyway, which it was. My only negative feedback regarding the boutique was regarding alterations. BE doesn't do alterations so they refer you to local seamstresses in the area however, they very heavily pushed and pushed for me to use one in particular. The seamstress was extremely high priced and very cut and dry on the phone. I later heard that the boutique received a kick back/percentage for all of their customers that use this particular seamstress. I am not certain it is true, however it would explain why they pushed so hard for me to use her. I was glad I chose someone else for alterations. Overall, my experience with Bridal Extraordinaire was amazing. Finding my wedding dress became a very pleasant memorable experience thanks to them :)

Jana at Bridal Extraordinaire was my consultant that helped me find my wedding dress. She was great! I had been to a lot of other dress places and was unable to find the perfect dress. I was looking for a lace dress and I was having trouble finding a very big selection of them except for the vendors that sold Maggie Sottero. We had a brief conversation about what I was looking for and my budget. She brought me 3 dresses that were all very similar to what I had requested. I told her what I liked and didn't like about each, and she returned with 2 more dresses (one of them being the one I purchased). She listened very well and brought the exact dresses I was looking for. She even brought in a belt/sash to put with it which I ended up purchasing also. When my dress came in, I went to pick it up and try on accessories. She suggested a veil that I would have never even tried on and I fell in love with it. I received so many complements on my dress and I do not have one regret about my selection. My only complaint about Bridal Extraordinaire's service is with the bridesmaids dresses. They were not taking reservations at the time that I took my bridesmaids, so I took my 6 bridesmaid in on a Saturday without an appointment. When another wedding party arrived to try on bridesmaids dresses, the consultant helping us (not Jana) told us that all 6 of my bridesmaids would have to move from the 3 dressing rooms that we were sharing to just 1 dressing room that only 2 people could fit in at once. We ended up not purchasing the bridesmaids dresses here, but it was due to selecting a brand that Bridal Extraordinaire did not carry.

I loved my dress. I wish I could have worn it more than once! The staff at BE did a great job, and I couldn't have been happier.

I came to Bridal Extraordinaire in quite a pickle. I was two months out from my wedding with a dress that just wasn't going to work. I had spent a large amount of my budget on it, and it was unreturnable. The ladies at BE immediately helped me feel calm and reassured that they would have the dress for me. My mother and I sat in one of their nicely decorated dressing parlors as they brought out dresses that were floor models, so not only could I get them at a price within my budget, I could take it with me the same day. The consultant listened to me carefully and paid attention to what I was looking for, and the 2nd gown she pulled ended up being my perfect dress. The ladies were very kind and accommodating, and I would recommend them to any bride.

Very expensive gowns and doesn't include alterations. I was told alterations wouldn't be much but they were. I was thinking with the extra money I would at least have excellent service, but not any different than elsewhere. The dresses are beautiful though and I would buy the same one if I had to do it over.

While they kept us waiting for a while, when we did get to our room, we had a blast. So many dresses in my size! There was no limit to the number of dresses I could try. The room was large and private. They were more than happy to sell dresses off of the rack at a nice discount. Oh, and the consultant was AMAZING! She was sweet and upbeat and made me feel comfortable. Got my dress in an afternoon at a great price and I LOVED it! Just make sure you schedule your appointment ahead of time -- no walk-ins!

I purchased my wedding accessories at Bridal Extraordinaire including a custom veil, headband and earrings. Their accessories selection is the best in Kansas City. The entire upstairs is full of jewelry, belts, shoes, veils, etc. I felt like a princess trying on items and had no problem finding just the right pieces. The staff was always pleasant and helpful and never pressured me to purchase.

Finding my dress was a great experience. The girl helping us brought out 4 dresses in my price range, and helped me into each one, including pinning up the extra fabric. I picked the third dress, but she would have brought out another group of dresses if needed. My big complaint would be that my dress came in about a week before Christmas, and no one called me to tell me. I only found out because I called them at the beginnging of January. I live out of town, so I could have done my dress fitting when I was in town for Christmas. Instead, I had to buy a plane ticket to come back in February. So, if you get your dress here, I would recommend calling every few weeks to check on the status if it's important to you. Also, I bought the steam package, and according to the information they gave me, my dress should have been steamed for the final fitting. It was not, so I ended up having to drive back later that day (about an hour round trip) to pick up my dress so it could be steamed after the fitting. Overall, the service when picking out a dress was good, and afterwards, it was not.

I made several appointments when I went home to Kansas to find a wedding dress, but I was most excited about this one. My sister bought her wedding dress here in 2005 and she looked lovely. I couldn't wait for my own appointment. When I got there, my consultant, Megan, took time to talk and listen to my ideas. She also asked questions that helped her understand me as a person. She brought some great choices that looked just like I asked, but she also brought some wild cards based off my personality. Guess what? I went with something I never expected, but it ended up being everything I ever wanted! This place was professional and Megan also handled the "dressing" portion very respectfully. I never felt embarrassed or uncomfortable. This place is HIGHLY recommended!

Wonderful customer service and a beautiful selection of wedding dresses!

I bought my beautiful La Sposa wedding dress from Bridal Extraordinaire and they were nothing short of spectacular. I truly enjoyed my consultant Jennifer, who even though I hadn't asked for anything close to what I bought was able to go with the flow and pull the perfect dress for me. They were also very easy to work with throughout the storage process and my dress was ready the day of, perfectly steamed and ready for me. They were wonderful in every way!

I found my wedding dress here and loved it!! The only thing is you have to pay extra for them to steam it and find your own alterations lady. Thankfully I found a lady that was inexpensive to do my alterations. I got tons of compliments about my dress as it is truly unique and beautiful!

Bridal Extraordinaire is not you ordinary wedding dress shop. The women are very good at pulling the dress from the back that you have only dreamed of. This shop is amazing so it would be best to call ahead and make an appointment. Everyone should go there for the exceptional treatment they give. I found not only my dress at Bridal Extraordinaire, but my sister's as well. They offered us 20% as a sibling discount, since she had purchased her dress there 2 years ago. Our consultant was great and was actually getting married on the same day as I was. Stand firm on your budget, they really do have something in every price range. This is as close to Klienfelds as you'll get in KC. A great experience.

Bridal Extraordinaire was the first place I looked for dresses and it was such a great experience! I went one other place before coming back and getting my dress here, and we also got our flower girl and bridesmaid dresses and tuxes from them. I think they are probably priced a little higher, but the service was excellent. They helped me find a dress that fit my personality and body - it ended up being a dress I never would have even tried on, but it was perfect!
