An Eclectic Stem

This florist is an absolute disaster! We gave her a deposit in April for an October 1 wedding; she never signed the contract, giving excuse after excuse - it's lost in email, my fax is down - yada yada - but cashed the deposit check. When we met with her, she presented the wrong flowers, was 30 minutes late for the meeting and completely unprepared, then blamed it on us. At one month before the wedding we still had no contract, no written proposal and no idea of the cost. (We were able to get Fiddly Fig and they were incredible!) Paige, the owner of Eclectic Stem, refuses to refund our deposit, even though we have no contract and she has absolutely no legal right to the money. We have notified the Missouri Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau, and we suggest that others in this situation (there appear to be several) do the same. I would so hate for another young bride to be terribly disappointed. BEWARE!!

Paige at An Eclectic Stem provides us with our arrangements for business related events. She is a joy to work with, and creates out-of-this-world arrangements!! I wouldn't go anywhere else!! Keep up the great work girls!!

I unfortunately had a road bump when I signed a contract with Paige from An Eclectic Stem. I am a pretty flexible person, I knew the types of flowers I liked but wasn't hard set on certain flowers and asked that if she could tell me flowers that were similiar or the same style of some that I knew of but were cheaper and she couldn't! I discussed with her the vision I had for the decor and we discussed the flowers that were going to be used and budget was also stated numerous times-she in looking at the whole decor that we had discussed she said she was able to do everything we had talked about in my budget which was $1200. So, as a result I signed a contract and paid $300 deposit. When it came time to do a mock-up it was a disaster!!!! She had said that she wasn't able to do what we had discussed for my budget. She turned my flower centerpieces into NO tall arrangements, a few tables with short vases with no flowers only sticks and berries poking out. I offered a compromise with having some tables only with candles and she said those were even too expensive so she changed it to paper lanterns with a few berries and curly willow around the lanterns. She also cut the ceremony flowers out completely and put curly willow with berries in it's place. The only flowers she offered were the bridesmaid bouquets and my bouquet although she had to cut my bouquet in half b/c of cost!!!! And then, even with all her changes it (no flowers except the bouquets) was going to cost $1600. This was the only time I went home and cried about my wedding experience. She seemed nice and bubbly, but after dealing with her I don't think she was sincere at all, I think she is very fake. I repeatedly asked for a printout of the price for everything specific thing and she never gave me one. She is so disorganized and was not willing to work with us. The WORST experience of my life. Since we already paid a nonrefundable deposit b/c she said she could do it for what we talked about, we decided not to pay her anything else and instead went elsewhere for flowers (which was a hundred times better). We didn't want to lose $300 so she gave us the groom's boutinerre (1 mini calla lilly), my bouquet (30 stems of white mini calla lillies with glittered edges), and 6 stems of green hydrangea. On wedding day nothing went well with it, the boutinerre fell apart as soon as it came out of the box and it was wilted, she gave us 24 mini hydrangea instead of the full stems of hydrangea, and my bouquet the glittered edges turned out to be rinestones hot glued onto the edges which turned it a little brown-it was wilted and was falling apart. we actually had to use one of the falling stems as my husbands boutinerre. Her website looks so fantastic with the pictures of her designs, but unfortunately it's false advertisement!!! DO NOT WAST YOUR MONEY-you WILL regret it if you pick An Eclectic Stem as your florist. I have shared my experience with my planner (who I got after this incident) and my venue and they both said that they have had previous brides say the same things. They would not have recommended her to me if they knew a head of time :( Too late for me, but not for you!!! The only way I could see hiring her is if you gave her thousands of dollars and didn't want much in return.

I cannot say enough great things about Paige! She was very easy to contact and very responsive to meeting with me! I didn't have a need for anything beyond my bouquet, corsages and boutonnières. Paige did not try to convince me I needed anything else! She was also willing to incorporate flower brooches I had gathered (thinking I might do a broch bouquet, which i later decided against). Paige spoke with me at leangth about the wedding party preferences and the result was a unique floral arrangement for everyone! Tehy were delightful!When the cost ran higher than anticipated, she worked with me on making budget-conscious adjustments which still had the same feel and style, just easier on the budget. Everyone commented on how original and fun our flowers were! I highly recommend An Eclectic Stem!

Ugh, OMG! Paige was soooo friendly every time I met with her. She would hug me and call me babe like I was an old friend. My first impression of her was that she had a fabulous personality. After my mom and I had our meeting with her, she promised to send the quote through email. As I waited and waited for it, for a week or two, I got a little confused because I never got it. So I called her and eventually finally got through (she is really hard to get a hold of by any method). She was told me that she was terribly sorry and would send it out Sunday. She never sent it. So, I actually went back there to ask what in the world was up. At that point she realized she had my email wrong, something about typing my email in wrong because she has a bad habit about not just replying to an email one sends. So we got that fixed and she said she sent it out while I was standing there. I got home to check my mail and it was not there. So I waited a while and called her back when I never got it. The excuse was that, "Oh, my email isn't working and won't send out emails! I'l have my husband fix it. I'll call you if he can't fix it." And that was the last I heard from her. Terrible Terrible! I feel awful that she just forgot about me like that. My wedding it July 31st and it just made that aspect so stressful. :'(

We were very unhappy with An Eclectic Stem. We met with her and she took all of our ideas for the bid and we never heard back from her. Our planner contacted her on several occassion without any response. The only thing that really sticks out in my mind about our meeting was that we joked that she didn't have to take any clients she thought would be annoying. I guess we fit that bill. On another note, my bridal party really wanted to use her as well. They thought her stuff was really creative. They never heard from her after their meeting either. Must be nice to pick and choose your clients.

Paige was awesome and hilarious and got me and understood what i wanted right away. The flowers were GORGEOUS and the Price was AMAZING. However the day of there were a few problems in the correctness of my order - due to computer problems she had had the week before. Instead of calling me in time to verify my order she went from memory and had a few thinsg incorrectly and not enough loose petals for the aisle, resulting in a last minute run by aunt to Sam's to purchase flowers to pluck petals off of.

Amazing, the flowers were perfect!! Thank you so much for your talent. Better than we could have imagined.THE PLACE TO GO!

Paige was AMAZING. I told her what I had for ideas and she showed me pictures of what she was thinking on the spot. I'm still absolutely floored by how beautifully perfect the bouquet came to be, and people are still talking about it! If you're looking for something gorgeous to carry down the aisle, but feel like what you say really does matter, go to An Eclectic Stem. I cannot suggest this enough. Perfect.

I had the Stem do the flowers for my recent wedding. She met with us and really got my vision of what I wanted at my wedding. She has the greatest ideas and can really execute on them. She made my wedding like a dream of orchids. If you are not using her for your wedding you should be. My girlfriend is using her for her wedding this summer and she is booking up. So I would move fast!

The flowers for my wedding were beautiful. They were very willing to work within my budget. However, I didn't feel like I had as much control over how the flowers looked as I would have liked.
