All Ears Mobile DJ

Richard was our DJ for our wedding reception 9/17/11at Boulevard Brewery. I found "All Ears Mobile DJ" through the (now defunct) "Wedding Hive," a sort of "indie" collective of wedding vendors in the Kansas City area. While I wouldn't describe myself as indie, I was certainly not wanting to have a "cookie cutter" wedding and I was immediately drawn to his description of his services on his webpage (aka: "It's ok to admit that you're scared of wedding DJs. The bad tuxes; the tacky "jazz" music during dinner; the fear of the Macarena and the Chicken Dance. Here is the good news: it does not have to be that way"). If you too "Fear the DJ" Richard is the perfect person to assuage that terror and help you throw a great party!Richard has a great, warm personality and is extremely professional and easy to work with. We initially met with him to chat about the services he could provide and left our meeting feeling extremely confident that our guests would be on our dance floor all night! He has an extremely extensive music library, a good sense of what keeps people dancing, and is laid back and definitely NOT your stereotypical wedding DJ, which is exactly what we were looking for. Maybe a lesser known fact in wedding planning is that the DJ also serves as a MC for the reception, and we felt he'd do a great job with his charismatic personality and easy going vibe. As we got closer to the actual date of our wedding (we snagged him early, knowing the music is a key component of a fun party!), Richard sent us a questionnaire which had all sorts of questions that helped plan the evening, and the types of music that would be played. We later met to walk through this worksheet and finalize details for the evening. It was great being able to spend so much face time planning with him—which is a huge asset I don’t think all DJ services offer. He was also very responsive to emails with any questions I might have. So what you all really want to know about is—how was the party? Well, fabulous! I never had to worry my pretty little head for a moment about anything with his services—which is wonderful for a bride—so I could truly relax and enjoy the day! I was supremely confident he would deliver—and boy did he deliver! He was even able to find random songs I requested (“In Heaven There is No Beer” which is well known to Hawkeye fans, but I’m not sure anyone else) and ran the show incredibly smoothly—from intros, to toasts, to dismissing tables to the buffet, it was seamless and it was fantastic to know everything was in good hands so I could focus on chatting with guests and eating my pulled pork! Once the crowd got warmed up, they definitely danced off all the cake and bbq they ate (and then some), and everyone had a great time! He has a great catalog of music, is very professional, yet friendly and accessible, and did a top notch job. I would highly recommend All Ears Mobile DJ for any of your events and am already plotting how I can host another party and use his services! His passion for and knowledge of music is something he leverages as a DJ and is certainly a great asset that not everyone will have and enables him to play an eclectic mix of really good/ non-cheesy music to entertain your guests. Something we didn’t get to take advantage of—but that’s a great value add—is Richard can perform live music as well.

Richard was a delight to work with - he was very easy going, super responsive and played amazing music that was not the typical wedding DJ. He accommodated all our needs and then some including meeting with us and the coordinators on sight numerous times and was flexible in last minute song requests. We loved his voice for MC'ing and he was fun, energetic and could go with the flow of the night. We loved his eclectic taste in music and his style/personality shined through out the evening. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ/MC for our wedding and can't thank him enough for his amazing talents and sharing them with us on our big day!

Richard, I have to tell you, Cameron is one totally awesome guy. I couldn't have asked for a better DJ. We met him and instantly clicked. He had all the same music tastes as we do. We gave him a list of music and he went with it and threw in more that were just perfect for us. The dance floor was packed and always going. My husband Kennie thought he was the best. We really can't thank him enough for doing such a great job. I want to have another wedding just so I can have him DJ for us again!You have a good guy there!

All Ears came with an extensive planner to help you make sure the music played at your wedding is the music you enjoy. He also has the ability to set up a sound system if you have hired a string trio or quartet for your ceremony music.

Richard was the best vendor to work with before the wedding. He always answered emails/telephone calls and was always early to our meetings. He was very helpful in picking out our wedding music and was very organized. He was also the best vendor to work with during the wedding. He showed up early for set up and had all our last minute changes ready. He kept the dance floor full all night and made our wedding really fun. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a quality wedding DJ.

We could not have been happier with the music during our Wedding! Richard stepped in not only during our reception, but also provided music for our ceremony which exceeded my expectations. Huge thanks to him for helping make our day just a little more perfect!

Richard was the DJ at our wedding. He was wonderful and we couldn't have asked for anyone or anything better. We have received so many compliments on him and he was a pleasure to work with. I have been to a lot of weddings and rarely have I seen a dance floor as lit up and active as the one at my wedding!! The music was exactly what I wanted and definitely my style. Had we not planned to end the reception at 12:00 am because of the neighbors, I'm sure the dance party would have continued well into the wee hours of the morning. Thanks Richard - fantastic job!

Richard did an amazing job! From the minute I read his website I knew I wanted his personality behind the music at our reception. He was a great combination of professional and easy going and gave great advice when I was too burned out from wedding planning to make song selections. Several of the guests commented about how great the music was and he had most of them on the dance floor. I really appreciate how well he handled so many people coming to him with requests and the flow of the reception timeline. Thank you for making the reception everything my husband and I wanted it to be!

I want to get married again just so I can have another party with Richard as our DJ...seriously. I can't imagine anyone regretting choosing him as their DJ.

I was so stressed about finding a DJ that would play good music and be able to emcee the party. After I met Richard, I knew I didn't have to worry any more. And I was right - he was fantastic on both counts.Let me just say that I was not an ideal customer. I made lots of last-minute changes and had trouble with song selection. But Richard had great suggestions for us and rolled with whatever we threw at him. He and his girlfriend were even able to provide us with live music for the ceremony at the last minute (for a well-deserved fee). They were lovely to work with before and during the wedding: willing to work within our budget, laid back, and very personable. I am still hearing from guests about how great the music was and how good they sounded live. Things went a little awry and I missed my entrance during the ceremony, but Richard and Michelle handled it like pros. They just kept playing until we had things back on track - I was the only one who knew things hadn't gone as planned. (To avoid this, I would advise others to clearly communicate your timeline and stick to it - maybe even agree on a signal for when you would like to start your processional. )Richard even sent us a CD of the songs we chose for that night. I would recommend his service to anyone!

Richard was the best vendor I worked with throughout the whole wedding planning process. He was very helpful when planning our reception music. He took time to listen to what we wanted and he delivered exactly that! Our reception was fantastic and I can honestly say a good portion of that was because of Richard. He gauged the crowd perfectly and kept the dance floor going all night. I would hire him again in the blink of an eye.

Richard was great! He met with us twice to understand us, our music preferences and our vision for the wedding. He and his girlfriend sang during the beginning of our dinner and were just extraordinary! The music he played was perfect and even introduced us with unique information we had shared with him about how we met etc. It was a great touch for our small, intimate wedding. Thanks Richard!

Richard was extremely professional, organized, flexible, and available throughout the entire process when we asked him to DJ our wedding. He helped us organize everything related to the entertainment and was an essential part in making our entire wedding and reception run smoothly. We are still hearing compliments about the music (which he helped pick out with us) and the great DJ. Don't hesitate to use All Ears for your wedding or any other event for that matter!

Perfection. Richard worked well with our likes/disklikes and had great suggestions for the entire night. Between playing tracks and performing live acoustic music, the night was totally complete. Also, he's a really nice dude, and catered to how we wanted our wedding to go down. Can't thank him enough, and I'd suggest him for any event.

I am so glad I found Richard and hired him as my DJ! He was so helpfull from beginning to end. I couldn' be happier with his services!!! Richard was wonderful to work with. He took time to create a wedding playlist that was special for our wedding. He was available anytime we wanted to meet and was extremely flexible. Our guests complimented our music selections and it helped make our reception very memorable. Richard was very professional and had a great energy with our guests. Richard did an absolutely amazing job creating a fun, laid back and enjoyable atmosphere for our reception. A DJ can make or break your reception and the time that your guests have. All Ears Mobile DJ kept our guests engaged and played music that appealed to every different ear in the crowd.
