Olive Events is located in Kansas City, Kansas. Our kitchen overlooks a pond and creek which is frequently visited by wild turkeys and deer.
Marisa started her professional training in the Culinary Department at Johnson County Community College in 1994. Her apprenticeship started at Club 427 under Chefs Jennifer Maloney and Laurie Thomas. She then moved to Café Allegro where she was a pastry chef and Sous chef, training under Steve Cole. In 2002, Marisa took the experience and knowledge she had gained over those eight years and ventured out to start Simple Pleasures Catering. From 2002 until recently, Marisa has had the opportunity to provide full event services for corporate events, weddings, fundraisers, wine tastings and was honored by being selected as the caterer for the President of the United States during his visit in May of 2008.
Marisa wanted to move in a new direction creatively and recently branched out to start Olive Events. This company is dedicated to forming a bond with local farmers so that each menu is enhanced with the freshest and organic ingredients available locally. Olive Events can design a menu that includes the most sinful of desserts but can also easily customize menus to fit your lifestyle, including vegetarian options.
Marisa and her entire staff will tend to every detail necessary to make your event successful. The goal for each event is to exceed your expectations as well as those of your guests.
